You don’t have to call your pain a gift

There’s a version of healing that asks you to be grateful for what broke you. To find the lesson, the silver lining, the reason it “had to happen.” And if you can’t? You’re told you’re not healed yet.

That’s a heavy thing to put on someone who’s already carrying enough.

You’re allowed to hold two truths at once: it never should have happened, and you are becoming someone stronger because of how you survived it. The second one doesn’t excuse the first. Strength isn’t the same as gratitude.

Turning pain into power isn’t about rewriting the story so it hurts less. It’s about deciding what you build out of it now—clearer boundaries, a quieter kind of self-trust, a life that’s yours.
